Beauty Breakdown: Today's Bride Magazine, Soft Cut Crease Bridal Look
This is one of my favourite makeup looks to do for bridal - the makeup is soft, romantic, it photographs well and can be adapted to different eye shapes and skin tones. If you are interested in pursuing work as a MUA in the bridal industry, this is definitely a look you want to master. The idea behind a look like this is that it softly emphasizes all the bride's features. The eyeshadow is actually a cut crease shadow application (just softened), the cheeks are slightly contoured and the lips are an enhanced version of the bride's natural lip colour. Here are the products I used to create this look:
Buff Face Atelier Ultra Foundation into the skin. Use #3 down the centre of the face and #6 to slightly contour
Set foundation with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Softly enhance the contour of the cheek with the Sephora Collection Contour Palette (I used the shade that was in the middle of the bottom row)
Highlight the cheeks using the Sephora Collection Illuminate Palette ( I used the highlighter that was more champagne coloured)
Blush is optional for this look - I didn't use any for this shoot!
Using the Sephora Collection Mixology Palette in Sweet and Warm use a matte shadow close to your client's skin tone and apply all over the eyelid. Create a soft cut crease with one of the matte deep brown shadows and blend this under the lower lash line
Press the gold/champagne shimmer shadow on to the lid and brush under the brow.
Using the matte black shadow enhance the outer corner of the eye, ensure the shadow blends into the matte brown shadow
Apply one coat of Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara in Very Black
Press the Anastasia Brow Primer into the brows and brush through
Apply Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Taupe
Finish the brows with Anastasia Clear Brow Gel
Apply Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick in #21 (Ingenuous - cool beigey brown)
Set the makeup with the Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray and you are done!
